Orientation

Learn the basics about your public access channel and how you can best make use of it. This session is designed to answer your questions, explore what you'd like to do and help you get started. Includes signing up for classes and a tour of the facility. 1+ hour. Tuition: free and recommended for all users of public access Channels 27, 28, & 30.

Studio Production

Make Your Own TV Show.... or star in one! Learn producing, directing, cameras, audio, graphics, and more! Get hands-on training in our state-of-the-art television studio! Air your programs on our cable channels to 30,000 households on the mid–peninsula! Make new friends as a studio crew volunteer. See the programs our students have made. Multi-Camera on Location: Performance & Sports Coverage

Adobe Photoshop for Photographers: A Simple Approach

Lab time throughout to practice techniques. Learn the best professional software program to process your digital photos straight from your camera or scanner. This two-session workshop focuses on learning how to get the most from just a few of Photoshop's tools to achieve great results: Levels, Curves, Layers and Masks. In both lecture and lab time, we will examine organizing your files and how to work efficiently. You'll be introduced to methods and concepts for sharpening and printing. No prior Photoshop experience required.

Adobe Lightroom: "Starting In The Middle"

Instructor is Godfrey DiGiorgi.
A small class focused on your needs and questions!

A two-session workshop for photographers interested to learn how to use Adobe Lightroom. No prerequisites, some familiarity with Photoshop and image processing workflow is helpful. Students are welcome to bring a library of their own work, either on external hard drive or laptop. Learn how to transition your work from Photoshop into Lightroom, or start from scratch with Lightroom as the principal tool for your image processing workflow. Explore how to organize your work in order to use the Lightroom Library, Import and image processing tools efficiently. Learn how to integrate with Photoshop seamlessly. Examine and understand the use of templates in the Lightroom modules to make your work faster, easier and more consistent. Learn how to use Export as well as the Slideshow, Printing and Web modules to output finished photographs. There will be time given throughout the session for hands-on and Q&A.

Creating B&W Photographs: A Digital Approach

Instructor is Godfrey DiGiorgi.

A two-day (9 hrs. total), hands-on workshop exploring the creation and rendering of black and white photographs using digital means. Learn techniques for shooting with your digital camera as well as how to scan B&W or Color negatives and render them into presentation quality B&W photographs. Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom image processing applications will be used. You will be guided through a variety of different rendering approaches and printing techniques. The class will focus on doing, be prepared to bring your own photographs to work on! No prerequisites required, some background in using Photoshop or Lightroom is helpful.

Digital Stories

In a supportive, creative setting, create an autobiographical story with narrative, images, & music, or a tribute to someone dear. The workshop takes place over 3 days and two weekends. There is some preliminary brainstorming work and gathering of photos before the workshop. It's your option to publish these keepsakes or not.
