It is recommended the Board approve the certificated personnel actions as presented.

C. Approval of Minutes
It is recommended the Board approve the minutes of the January 29, 2013 special and regular meetings.

D. Approval of New High School Courses for 2013-14
It is recommended the Board approve the following new high school courses for 2013-14: Communications, Ceramics and Sculpture, Senior Projects, Programming for Mobile Devices, Positive Psychology and The Literature of Comedy.

E. Proposed Curricular Update for Gunn High School English Department
It is recommended the Board approve updated course titles, themes and literature lists for ninth through twelfth grade English classes at Gunn High School.

F. Approval of Update to Board and Superintendent Protocols
It is recommended the Board adopt updates to the Board and Superintendent Protocols.

Information:

A. 2011-12 Annual Independent Audit Report
Staff will present this annual financial audit report, which is required by state statute.

B. Potential Donation of Improvements to the Palo Alto High School Indoor Physical Education and Athletic Facilities
Staff will present information about how the Palo Alto High School Indoor Physical Education and Athletic Facilities could be improved through a major donation.




C. INFORMATION ITEM

C. An Examination of Student Perceptions of Bullying in PAUSD
Staff will present a report examining results of the Palo Alto Reality Check (PARC) Survey, California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS), and Sources of Strength (SOS) Survey.

D. Resolution 2012-13.14 in Support of the Protect Our Children Gun Buyback Event
The Board will discuss adopting a resolution to support a gun buyback event being held in the community.

E. 2013 Summer School Dates and Fees
The Board will discuss approving the 2013 summer school dates and fees.

Action:

F. Resolution Authorizing the Issuance and Sale of Bonds of The Palo Alto Unified School District in an Amount Not to Exceed $70,000,000, By Public or Negotiated Sale; Prescribing The Terms of Said Bonds; Approving The Form of and Authorizing The Execution and Delivery of a Notice of Sale, a Bond Purchase Agreement, a Paying Agent Agreement, a Continuing Disclosure Agreement, and an Official Statement Relating to Said Bonds; and Authorizing The Execution of Necessary Certificates and Documents Relating to Said Bonds
The Board will consider providing the necessary authorization to issue Series C in the amount of $70,000,000 for the Strong Schools Bond program.

The Board will discuss authorizing staff to solicit bids for the Gunn High School Existing Gymnasium Modernization project.

Action:

H. Resolution 2012-13.12 in Support of Senate Constitutional Amendment 3
The Board will consider adopting a resolution to support Senate Constitutional Amendment 3 which reduces the two-thirds vote requirement on parcel taxes to a 55% threshold
