We pay tribute to those producers who
have won accolades at the regional Western Access
Video Excellence (WAVE) awards (Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico,
Arizona, California, Hawaii) and at the national Hometown Video awards.

Every year, the Alliance for Community Media holds a national conference to share ideas from public access media centers from around the country. A centerpiece of the proceedings is the Hometown Awards celebrating excellence in community media production. This year, two awards were bestowed on Media Center related entities.
The Western Access Video Excellence Awards were announced on October 15, 2010. Media Center Producers, both in the Community and on Staff, took home 7 awards, more than any other public access center in the Western US. We present them in their entirety below. Small Plane Crash in East Palo Alto

A tragic small plane accident claimed three lives on a foggy morning, February 17, 2010. All fatalities were on board the plane. Media Center Staff and Volunteers scrambled to the crash site along with other local media to cover the aftermath.
